Warranty
The Carolina Homes commitment to providing high quality materials, and skilled, qualified tradespeople for the construction of your new home extends beyond the building of your home and into your first year of living in the home. Our warranty program, offered in conjunction with the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, will ensure your complete satisfaction with your home. Carolina Homes is proud to offer you the security of a one year, materials and workmanship warranty, as well as a five year structural warranty.
The First Year
While living in your house the first year it is normal to have a period of settlement and shrinkage. This period is normal for every new home. Outside of that, Carolina homes wishes to make sure that your 'space for life' is fully functional for your use. We will perform three standard warranty check points during the first year that you live in your new home.
30 Day AppointmentThe service department will arrange a time with you, approximately 30 days after you move in to your home, for one of our service technicians to do another home inspection with you, and answer any questions that may have developed as your family gets settled into the home. The technician will also see that everything is up to the Alberta New Home Warranty standards.
6 Month ReviewFor your convenience, you will be provided with a request for service form with your New Home Orientation walk through package to send to our service department after your first 6 months in your new home. Once our service department has received your form, they will contact you to set up an appointment to attend to your concerns.
1 Year ReviewNear the one year anniversary of living in your new home, our service department will mail you a reminder that the materials and workmanship portion of your warranty is about to expire. Please use this opportunity to check your home, and bring to our attention any outstanding warranty items. At this time, our service technicians will be happy to make a final appointment to deal with any issues of concern.
The First Five Years
5 Year Structural WarrantyCarolina Homes provides added security by offering a five year warranty on the structural components of your home, in conjunction with the Alberta New Home Warranty Program. This warranty covers 'structural defects', which are any defects affecting the support system of your new home, for example foundation walls, floor joists and roof trusses. Any concerns you may still have about your home will be dealt with through this program, and details regarding their responsibilities for your new home are outlined on your offer to purchase. The Alberta New Home Warranty Program also makes available an Extended Warranty, lasting another 5 years (for a total of 10 years), for an extra fee.
